When choosing a business name, make sure it reflects the image you want to project and encompasses the services you want to offer. Once that decision is made, you need to protect it by registering it. There are four ways of registering:

• Entity name protects you at a state level
• Trademark protects you at a federal level
• Doing business as (DBA) doesn’t give legal protection, but it might be legally required
• Domain name protects your business website address
